Job Responsibilities
- Utilize strategic sourcing skills to support the operation of a petrochemical plant, primarily focused on auxiliary chemical procurement, alongside MRO and service-related purchases.
- Identify and implement the most cost-effective and efficient method for purchasing auxiliary chemicals, using various procurement methods and tools.
- Oversee the procurement process from start to finish, including bidder selection, vendor meetings, quotation requests, evaluation, negotiation, award, contract creation, PO issuance, expediting delivery, vendor monitoring, and invoicing — with a strong focus on auxiliary chemical-related compliance and performance.
- Handle chemical imports in compliance with HS codes, local regulations, and permit requirements (e.g., BPOM, B3, etc.).
- Analyze vendor proposals (quotations) to ensure accuracy of auxiliary chemical specifications, including purity, packaging standards, and SDS compliance.
- Negotiate price, delivery terms, Incoterms, and contract conditions to ensure the best outcomes for auxiliary chemical sourcing, while adhering to safety and regulatory requirements.
- Review PR and issue PO using ERP, ensuring accurate material codes and description for auxiliary chemicals.
- Conduct Vendor Performance Evaluations (VPE), particularly for auxiliary chemical vendors, ensuring safety, compliance, and delivery performance.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from any discipline with at least 3 years of experience in procurement at a chemical or petrochemical company, preferably involving auxiliary chemical procurement.
- Strong working knowledge in auxiliary chemical procurement, including sourcing of specialty chemicals, additives, and other non-feedstock process chemicals.
- Good and effective communication skill
- Knowledge and Experience in SAP (ERP) and E- Procurement system.
- Able to speak multi languages, English is a must and ability to speak Korean language will be an advantage.
- CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) is an advantage.
- Advanced in Ms. Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) including Outlook.
- Logistics and regulatory knowledge specific to chemical imports, including documentation and permit handling.
- Understanding of chemical handling regulations, SDS/MSDS compliance, and HSE practices related to chemical storage and delivery.
- Exhibit high business ethics and principle-based behavior.
- Basic knowledge about the petrochemical industry and process.
- Willing to be placed in Merak Plant (Merak).
